Our three wards, Almonte, Pakenham and Ramsay have these and more to offer you. For the sports loving visitor, there are two major arenas, beaches on the Mississippi River, boat launches, opportunities for canoeing, fishing, hiking, alpine and cross country ski facilities, snowmobiling and other typical Canadian activities.

For those planning to locate with us, there are curling clubs, tennis courts, eighteen hole golf courses, Community Centres and more. Our friendly merchants welcome you to a wide variety of stores which will suit almost every taste. There are antique and gift shops, books shops with new and older volumes, art galleries and noted style and designer shops, as well as many stores in which you will find all your camping and holiday needs from food to stove fuel, or spare socks to snow shoes!

Noted for hospitality, the area includes more than ten bed and breakfast establishments, the hosts and hostesses of which are renowned for their ability to ensure you a happy and comfortable stay. Restaurants cater to all tastes and budgets. There are museums and historic sites, these being linked in the town of Almonte and the village of Pakenham by walking tours, and in the previously designated township of Ramsay, by a driving tour.
